To ensure a wider reach, we are pleased to announce that the report "A Care Lead Transition to a Sustainable Future" is now available in Spanish, making this crucial information accessible to more audiences. It is a vital tool for policymakers and advocates seeking to promote fairness in care systems and climate response strategies, emphasising the need for comprehensive, gender-focused solutions.

This publication illuminates the urgent and interrelated crises of care and climate change, highlighting how both disproportionately impact women worldwide. The report focuses on the lack of access to care services and the increasing demands on unpaid care work, primarily performed by women, which remain undervalued and largely invisible in economic policymaking. It argues that this situation contributes to widening gender, financial, and social inequalities and calls for rethinking current policies.

Climate change exacerbates these challenges by increasing the demand for care and disrupting caregiving systems through extreme weather events. In times of crisis, women are often forced to take on more unpaid care work, leaving fewer opportunities for economic independence and personal growth. The report stresses that the care crisis and climate change are pressing issues that must be addressed simultaneously.

The publication calls for a gender-just transition, urging governments to invest in high-quality care services and implement climate adaptation policies that reduce power imbalances. By doing so, countries can reduce inequality, promote gender equity, and improve overall well-being.
