GI-ESCR participated in a series of courses on just transitions in Latin America

The Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR) was part of a series of dialogues centred on just transitions in Latin America organised jointly by Oxfam and the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). The series covers climate justice and just transitions issues from Latin-American, intersectional, intercultural and intergenerational perspectives. The series comprises 5 dialogues that are freely accessible on CLACSO’s website and shed light on critical issues surrounding just transitions in the region including, climate education, eco-feminism, tools and challenges for public participation, and alternative development models.

In particular, GI-ESCR’s Programme Officer on Climate and Environmental Justice, Alejandra Lozano, was part of the dialogue on challenges and tools for a Just Transition in Latin America together with Javiera Lecourt Palacios from CEUS Chile.

To delve deeper into this discussion and learn about transition processes that provide fair solutions that work for the environment and for the communities and people affected by the climate crisis, we encourage you to access the dialogues here and explore its content.
